Learn more about Isabella Caravaggio

Isabella works at the United Nations Development Programme’s (UNDP) Crisis Bureau at HQ as a Programme Analyst with the Preventing Violent Extremism team. In this role she coordinates the team’s gender and women, peace, and security portfolio and UNDP’s work with religious actors, and acts as the PVE focal point for country offices in the Arab States. Isabella also supports integrating mental health and psychosocial support and behavioural science into prevention and peacebuilding programmes.

Prior to this, Isabella worked for UNDP’s Bangkok Regional Hub for 3 years, where she brought together civil society, government, and expert partners to coordinate conflict prevention and peacebuilding activities across six countries in Asia, and worked to strengthen the programme’s gender equality approaches.

Isabella has strong experience in supporting gender-transformative and inclusive change in peacebuilding and prevention contexts. She promotes the experiences and participation of women and girls in efforts to build peace and prevent violent extremism, through research development and coordination, policy analysis, advocacy, and programme development.

Isabella holds an MSc in Human Rights from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario.
