Learn more about Nyachangkuoth Rambang Tai

Nyachangkuoth Rambang Tai is a feminist, human rights defender certified by frontline defenders Ireland, and a seasoned peacebuilding trainer, certified by the United States Institute of Peace (USIP). She has formerly held roles such as the Special Assistant to the AU Chairperson on Policy and Strategic Relations with the AU organs, co-founder of The Mother Care Organization and Gender and Social Justice Manager at Assistance Mission for Africa (AMA).

Nyachangkuoth works towards the participation and inclusion of women in decision-making processes and their protection from all forms of violence. She is the USIP youth country liaison for Uganda, Sudan, and South Sudan, winner of the Africa focus award 2020 and a finalist for the 2021 USIP Women Making Peace award. In 2018, she was the first female South Sudanese to win the Youth Leaders Fellowship Award at the USIP.

Nyachangkuoth has worked as consultant for many peace-implementing organizations and the United Nations Mission in South Sudan. In September 2020, she briefed the UNSC on South Sudan on behalf of South Sudanese civil society organizations.

Nyachangkuoth has a bachelor’s degree in economics and social sciences from the University of Bahr-Elgazal, and is currently pursuing a master’s in Governance and Development Studies from the University of Antwerp, Belgium.
